This course provides detailed information about the required setup for discrete manufacturing in the Production control module of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations.
The course covers parameters of the Production Control module. These parameters set the rules for how certain areas will be handled within the system. The General parameters cover basic requirements for things such as ledger postings, lead times on a job, and whether various steps such as picking lists and reporting as finished will be posted in the ledger.
Parameters also set up default journal names and determine whether there will be automatic actions such as BOM consumption and Reporting as Finished. There are also parameter settings that dictate what can happen within each status of a production order.
This course also covers how all of the parameters can vary by site. Because each site can have different production processes, there are settings at the company level which can be overridden at the site level.
Another setup area is production pools. These are a good way to group orders into categories that share characteristics. Finally, this course covers allocation keys. These are used when Job Registration is utilized in the system, and track specific activity within a Job. When there are multiple jobs an employee completes registration for, the employee would have a bundle, and the allocation key defines how to spread time across the bundle.
Format: Blended learning for on-site, private delivery. A combination of e-learning with trainer input from a Microsoft Certified Trainer.
